About Buhl Elementary
Every Student, Every Day. Do What It Takes!
Buhl Elementary is located in rural Tuscaloosa County. In August of 2012, our school experienced an expansion which included a new lunchroom, office, library, computer lab, restrooms and three room addition. Four additional rooms were renovated at this time. A multi-purpose building was also constructed. During the summer of 2014 a new playground was also constructed with equipment suitable for younger children. Buhl Elementary currently serves approximately 223 students from the Buhl and Sipsey communities Over the last three years we have seen a 20% increase in our student enrollment.
At Buhl Elementary, we are building a community of leaders. We encourage and celebrate the leaders within us.

Arrival & Departure
It is very important that your child is at school each day. The bell will ring for all students to go to class at 7:50. Class begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 2:42 PM. Your child is tardy after 7:58 and must be signed in at the office.
Attendance is essential in your child’s education. Please make being on time and staying all day as a top priority!
Children arriving at school before 7:30 AM will be considered part of the Early Morning Program. This program starts at 6:40 AM and lasts until 7:30 AM. The cost is $2.00 per day.
The buses unload at the front of the school, car riders at the back of the school. Drop off and pick up locations for Pre-k will be at the front of the school. Please do not pull up to drop students off until after 7:45. The busses will be unloading from 7:30-7:45. Please, unless your child participates in the Early Morning Program, do not allow your child to come in the front door until 7:30. This is a safety issue. All students go immediately to the cafeteria if they have not eaten breakfast or to the gym for our walking program. Breakfast begins at 7:30 and the children are dismissed to their classrooms at 7:50.
Dismissal Times:
- Bus Riders: 2:38 PM
- Car Riders: 2:40 PM
- Extended Day: 2:42 PM
Please make sure your child and his/her teacher knows how to get home each day. Students will go home based on the information provided on the registration form. If your child needs to go home in a way different from his/her normal routine, we must have a note. We cannot accept telephone calls to make changes to normal afternoon routine. A note or fax must be given to the school. This is a safety issue.
If your child plans to go home with another student, both parents please send a note home informing the teachers of the change in routine.

School History
A Rich Heritage
Since the year 1917, Buhl Elementary School has been a major component of this close knit community. In the community's early years, the school served, along with the Baptist church, the post office, and the local sawmills, as the central hub of activity and development. The local dirt roads, nearby train tracks, and Sipsey River were an appendage to this cluster of businesses. The local boys of the Buhl community provided heat by shoveling coal to the stoves throughout the school day. Today, almost 100 years later, updates have been made and structures have been renovated or demolished but Buhl Elementary School still serves as a primary focus to this small community in the western region of Tuscaloosa County.

About The Radiology Clinic

Commitment to Quality, Convenience, Privacy and Service
Dr. William D. Anderson founded the Radiology Clinic in the early 1940's. One of the state's first radiology specialists, Dr. Anderson recognized the vital role of radiology in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Over the years the clinic's mission has remained the same : to make quality images of the body that help the radiologist and the patient's physician effectively diagnose and treat a variety of health conditions.
A team of board certified radiologists and technologists use the latest in diagnostic techniques to make precise and detailed images. Today's advanced procedures allow physicians to detect medical problems, often in the very early stages when treatment is most effective.
Easily accessible from McFarland Boulevard, The Radiology Clinic is located just north of the Black Warrior River at 208 McFarland Circle, North. Ample free parking provides easy access to the Clinic.
At The Radiology Clinic caring and timely patient service is our top concern. Reports and/or images are delivered to the patient's physician office, in most cases, the following business day after the tests are completed. Should test results warrant immediate action, the personal physician is contacted at once.
The Radiology Clinic's caring staff recognizes that unfamiliarity with diagnostic testing can cause apprehension and uneasiness. Technologists take the time to explain exactly what the patient can expect during a test. A service representative is always available to assist patients with any questions or concerns.

They are active in the community supporting the Arts and encouraging students to continue their love for music.
We are very thankful to the Tuscaloosa Music Club for providing this support to our school. This year the members of the TMC have given their time to establish a choir. The choir has 48 members in the 3rd & 4th grades. They will perform for Veteran's Day and Christmas programs. We are so excited to be partnering with The United Cerebral Palsy of West Alabama, Inc. They are our new Adopt-A-School Partners. We have great plans this year. They want to create relationships with our parents and even assist in helping transport parents to attend evening events at our school.
